My Story
“Cut flowers aren’t just grown, they’re stories grounded in soil and seasons, brought to life in relationship with individuals and communities.”
Generational gardening
Flowers and gardens have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. A passion passed down from my grandad and then my dad; working with nature to create something beautiful or edible in the garden was the backdrop to my childhood. My grandad kept a beautiful rose garden, and I grew up learning about flowers and plants from my dad, who spent his childhood in Sussex immersed in nature.
Where dreams were planted
Sometimes the quietest moments leave the biggest imprints.
I still recall staring for hours as a child at a picture in the Ladybird book of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ of Beauty painting a vase of flowers in a beautiful pink dress. I wanted to be her! I loved staring at the paintings of flowers on her desk and scattered across the floor. I didn’t know it then, but this would become a memory that would quietly shape who I wanted to become. As an adult, revisiting this image, I realize it was imprinted on my subconscious and guided my creative journey.
Growing into Purpose
Over time, my path has unfolded a little like a garden finding its rhythm. What began as childhood wonder grew into a deeper calling; to bring together my love of flowers, my passion for photography, and my belief in caring for both people and the land.
My background in social research taught me how closely our wellbeing and life chances are tied to the systems and communities we create. Yet I came to see that real transformation isn’t possible in isolation; not apart from one another, and not apart from the living world that sustains us. We are not observers or owners of nature but participants in it, with a shared responsibility to nurture and restore the places we belong to.
My own search for meaning and connection as well as my interest in art and photography later drew me to the floral paintings of the Dutch Masters of the 17th century. Their still life compositions, rich with symbolism, history, and devotion stirred something in me. I was inspired to create a modern interpretation, one that honours the timeless beauty of flowers while speaking to our collective longing to live and create in harmony with nature.
The Gathered Garden Studio grew from this weaving together of passions: to tend soil, gather flowers, and create art that connects people not only to beauty, but to the hope that emerges when we work as if we are part of nature, not separate to it.

A Garden Shared
What began as a garden at home, a quiet place to grow flowers, to surround ourselves with nature and enjoy the seasons has become something larger than I ever imagined. Over time, I’ve come to realise that the garden was never really mine alone.
The flowers have their own way of reaching others: a neighbour pausing to enjoy them over the hedge in the front garden, a passerby drawn by colour or scent or visitors wanting to wander around the garden to see what is growing at that moment of time looking for beauty and inspiration. Beauty wants to be shared.
Through The Gathered Garden Studio, I’ve learned that the act of growing and creating is deeply relational. It’s an ongoing exchange between my hands and the soil, between artist and viewer, between one garden and the wider world.
This space is grounded in that spirit of generosity. What I intend for you is that this space and my work become an invitation to pause, to notice, and to reconnect with what’s living and real. My hope is that through this work whether through art or the stories from my garden that I share that you find something that gently gathers you back to yourself, to the land, and to everything that you belong to.
This work is part of a wider practice of regeneration - a holistic approach beyond soil encompassing all aspects of regenerative life.
